Somatic Embodiment

Somatic embodiment is a therapeutic approach that emphasizes the connection between the body and mind, helping individuals become more attuned to their physical sensations as a way to process emotions, trauma, and stress. It involves practices like body awareness, movement, and breathwork to access and release stored tension or unresolved emotional experiences within the body. By focusing on bodily sensations, somatic embodiment allows individuals to reconnect with their physical selves, fostering deeper emotional healing, self-awareness, and a sense of wholeness.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach primarily used to treat trauma and distressing life experiences. It helps individuals process and reframe negative thoughts and emotions associated with traumatic memories. During EMDR, the therapist guides the client to recall a distressing memory while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, taps, or sounds. This process is believed to help the brain reprocess the memory, reducing its emotional charge and altering the way it is stored, ultimately promoting healing and relief from trauma-related symptoms.

5

SPACE

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) is a therapeutic program designed to help parents address their child's anxiety and obsessive-compulsive behaviors. Instead of directly involving the child in therapy, SPACE focuses on changing the parents' responses to the child's anxiety by reducing accommodations that reinforce the anxious behaviors. Through supportive techniques, parents learn how to set boundaries and provide reassurance in a way that promotes the child’s independence and emotional resilience.

6
